What is Batik?
These beautiful pieces of cotton are the result of a resist dye technique. Hot wax designs are stamped onto the cotton. The fabric is then dipped into numerous dye batches to create a unique print. This batik technique is thousands of years old having been passed down through the generations. No two prints are ever alike. Once a print is finished & sold out, it is gone forever. All batiks are made in Bali and other locations surrounding the Indonesian region.
My collection honors these local artisans and the dedication they put into this centuries old technique.
